Let’s resume with a classic from Trovante: 125 azul. The proverbial in the road music. 125 is the name of a road that leads to the South. Trovante are not playing anymore but they reunite with some friends to celebrate its legacy. This clip is from that event. They were one of the greatest portuguese group from the beginning of the 1980’s until mid 1990’s. One their main features was to immortalize in song some of the best portuguese poets.

At least for non-US based sites this seams to be the truth. Half words, sudden policy changes and promises not fulfilled combined with arbitrary account suspensions when they were on the verge to reach the minimum amount that would lead to a payout, all this is happening and all this I can testify in first hand. A fluke and a scam. Just one more. Google Adsense can be at ease for the time being.

Google doesn’t like me

This has become a pub-blog. A 95% sponsored weblog. I use the reviews that the sponsors provide as an excuse to blog away telling and inventing the stories I like. Every single time I’m paid to blog I tell everyone by categorizing the post as publicity. I refuse to write concealed advertisements.

This for me is as honest, if not more, than what google does in it’s “free” services like Gmail and the works.

Today, Google honored Ex-Adufe 3.0 with a 0 Page Rank. With this Google proves, for instance, that it is not interested in distinguish between a pub-blog that levels with you informing what is an ad from another that completely conceals its deals. Google is more concerned with its business than with you. Google Page Rank is not a freebie provided by Google, it is a simple way to control what is Google deserving from what it isn’t. According to who? To Google naturally.

The link business and the review business are not owned by Google. They provide a way to earn money outside Google’s ad program and they expose the frailties of Google’s all mighty algorithm by exploiting its excessive automation and amorality.

Page Rank should be all about content, honest, undeceiving, externally evaluated content. Since when a good ad or review should be automatically banned from good guys city? Since you put in Google’s hand the decision about what is and it isn’t good for you. The battle is just beginning and new warriors are thankfully arriving at the fight.

How many newly wed couples in the world chose Italy as its honeymoon destination?

I for starters am part of the figure. Venice and Rome were our main destinations for the week we managed to spare in tour.

For once, money was not a big issue and we didn’t save when it come the moment to choose the hotel. Well, I’m exaggerating. Without the money restriction to choose a hotel ended up being an even harder choice! Italy hotels are usually expensive but if you want to go particularly to the main cities during the high season the sky is not the limit.

Rome hotels have quite a big range of prices, from the low budget options nearby the Termini (main train station) to the wonderful villas in the Aventino. Yes, we stayed for some days in the Aventino Hill in Sant’Anselmo’s.

Venice hotels have also a wide range of prices but starting in a higher threshold, at least if you are not considering staying I the mainland. It’s with an huge amount of saudade that a recall the nice little Locanda that was our main base to explore the only city in the world without a single automobile.

Num outro blogue que vou gerindo, bem menos vocacionado para tantos patrocínios, tenho uma significativa comunidade de leitores que acompanha as novidades do blogue por e-mail. Mais concretamente por via de uma email newsletter tool disponibilizada gratuitamente por um serviço de feeds.

Se há pouco elogiava o António pelo feliz nome do seu blogue sobre SEO (ver artigo anterior), não posso deixar de gabar também o Costumer Magnetism. O nome é feliz e o campeonato é outro. Trata-se efectivamente de uma empresa especializada em search engine optimization ou em search engine marketing, para ficar mais próximo da terminologia do António, que tem por fito prestar serviços remunerados.
Segundo os próprios terão experiência nestas matérias desde 1997 apresentando uma lista de clientes interessante. Sendo assim e sendo um dos players reconhecidos nestas andanças de search engine placement não deixo de cofiar a barba perante o seu recurso a um serviço de ligações pagas (como o que levou a que patrocinassem o texto que estão a ler) para por dessa forma melhorarem a sua visibilidade junto dos ditos motores de busca.
Esta coisa das ligações pagas dá mesmo resultado? Enquanto não há uma resposta definitiva, por aqui colabora-se na experiência.

No Marketing de Busca, o António Dias esclarece, provoca, dá dicas e pergunta há vários meses sobre questões envolvendo o genérico e todo popular tema de Search Engine Optimization.
O SEO mandará que a referência forte seja ele próprio contudo o nome Marketing de Busca parece-me particularmente feliz para malta lusófona.
Num dos últimos artigos abordou a questão do Page Rank a propósito da recente revisão que o google fez a uma boa parte das páginas rastreadas. Por aqui assiná-la-se que este autêntico blogue patrocinado (e este posts Não é patrocinado) foi finalmente penalizado de forma significativa pelo todo-poderoso google levando com um downgrade de PR 4 para PR2. Comparando com o que se passou com o blog do António só posso considerar justíssimo o tratamento diferenciado, ainda assim tenho algo a confessar: divirto-me genuinamente a encontrar formas diferentes de abordar os temas que os patrocinadores me propõem sejam eles contratos por links ou análises genuínas e incondicionais a páginas e empresas. Além deste divertimento muito moderadamente remunerado, há ainda outro ponto de honra para que esta brincadeira continue. Todas e quaisquer palavras patrocinadas serão sempre identificadas enquanto “Publicidade”.
